steven spielberg nite!

Okay, so last night i stayed up until 2 a.m (again!) but it wasn't because of the mysterious benedict society; it's because of HBO. I came home from work, made a cup of hot tea, surf the tv and on HBO, the truman show was playing. I was smiling because just before i got home i created this blog, and when i was thinking about the title, the line from the truman show crossed my mind : "Incase I don't see you... Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night!" --- and there it is, the very movie, just when i got back home, nice coincidence! :)

Then i found out spielberg's the close encounters of the third kind will air at 9.00 pm, and I was so eager to watch this since they said it's spielbergs' "it" movie and how great it is, especially considering it was made on the 70s. So I watched it and I was amazed, the story was deeply thought, it wasn't just an alien-meets-human type of story, also the special effect is awesome for movies from the 70s, and througout the movie, I constantly think "if someone remake this, it will be such a great movie, just like war of the worlds on 2005 vs on 1953.


Anyway, it ended at 11.00 pm, and just as i was thinking of going to sleep, the sentence on the tv changed my mind : "Next on HBO : Empire of the Sun". This is (imo) the BEST movie of all time, and i was thinking to myself, "well i could watch this again for about 30 minutes, just the beginning...." ; and there i was, infront of the tv up until the end of the movie. It was maybe the 20th time or so i watched empire of the sun, and it still amazed me,  every single time i watch it. Also my eyes were alyaws teary on the few scenes; although i've seen it again and again and again and again. Every single frame and dialogue on that movie is a masterpiece. I definitely think this is spielbergs' best work; and i don't think any other movie will ever top this, EVER.
